Exercise 4.2 Slap-Bass Alternation — Starting on the Slap
S B S B: bass-slap alternation starting on the slap, switching every beat, strengthening hand alternation and downbeat perception
Tempo: 60-70 BPM
💡 The mirror image of bass-slap alternation (B S B S): start on the slap S, with the bass landing on beats 2 and 4. The hand order stays R L R L — S starts on the lead hand, B lands on the support hand, breaking the habit that "bass must be the lead hand" and letting the support hand practice bass. Master both starting points and beat 1 is never locked by habit again.
B=bass (below center) · S=slap (upper corner) · s=ghost (light touch) · ·=rest (hand hovering above)
